Paris is in the north-central part of the country. It is the capital of France and I dare say, of the Universe. It is also the capital of pastry, cheese, and some might say wine. The City of Lights has been my home for two years and is the most vibrant place I've ever visited. In addition to sprouting amazing monuments in every arrondissement, it hosts more events and dignitaries than someone with no plans and deux cafés expresso can keep up with.
This only depends on how much time you have. You can climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, stroll the charming artists' neighborhood of Montmartre, take a pastry-making class, read about the vanquished cities inscribed in the Arc de Triomph, explore the city's catacombs (no sharks, I promise), appraise ancient and modern art, enjoy a champagne cruise down the Seine, grab a warm baguette from a patisserie first thing in the morning, wink at Mona Lisa, float above the city in a weather balloon, or visit luxury stores along the Champs Elysées. And that's just the first three days...
